This giant sticker ball started out as just a handful of stickers crumpled into balls, and it grew from there, and on the 13th we call it sticker ball day.
he Fletcher Free Library is displaying a unique exhibit - the world's largest sticker ball. The 308.25-pound ball was awarded the Guinness World Records title on November 11, 2020, and it is now on display in the library's front window until mid-January.
To coincide with the world record display, the library teamed up with the Burlington Arts and Church Street Market to host a Scavenger Window Hunt, an event designed to encourage safe outdoor activities during epidemic winters. All clues to the event related to the record set by Vermonters.
Participants who complete the treasure hunt can return the completed forms to the library to enter the raffle. Prizes include a variety of prizes from the "Keep Vermont Weird" beanies. The 50 participants who complete and return the treasure hunt forms first will receive chocolate candy from Lake Champlain. The raffle will be held on January 9th.
The giant sticker ball was borrowed from Sticky Brands, a Vermont-based company that specializes in custom stickers, decals and design services. Michael Rist, CEO of Sticky Brands Creative Group, said they were excited to have the opportunity to showcase the record-breaking ball at the Fletcher Free Library, giving other members of the community the opportunity to visit and interact with it.
